Morrison Bridge in Portland, Oregon had been dealing with a number of accidents due to the 50 year old steel grating that existed in the center of the bridge. The Morrison Bridge is the most-traveled bridge of the six county-owned bridges over the Willamette River and is used by more than 50,000 motorists a day. Over the years this bridge became worn down and unsafe in certain environments. Once the steel grating became wet, drivers had to slow down and use extreme caution. Many drivers complained that even while going 15mph, the bridge was still hazardous.

Exterior steps can become extremely hazardous when wet from outdoor elements. A slip resistant solution is often necessary to ensure the safety of workers utilizing the stairs. An example of an application where slip resistant steel grating is necessary is at the Miller Brewing Company. The Miller Brewing Company applied SlipNOT® steel grating treads to slippery exterior stairs to help increase worker safety at their facility. Non-slip steel grating is commonly used as a slip resistant solution in heavy duty industry applications such as this. Steel is ideal for such applications because it is a very rugged material; it can withstand installation in extreme heat and oily conditions. Slip resistant steel grating from SlipNOT® is also extremely durable and will be able to remain slip resistant even when being heavily used with minimal maintenance.

Steel grate can be used in a variety of applications throughout industrial environments such as automotive plants and steel mills, among others. Steel grate provides an open bar structure that allows for draining slippery elements that are prominent, including grease and oil. The steel surface is able to withstand contact with heavy equipment and other materials that require a high strength to weight ratio.
