Commercial Non Slip Floor
A SlipNOT® non slip floor can be utilized throughout numerous industries in a wide variety of applications. The first industry that comes to mind as being able to best utilize a non slip floor is in a manufacturing or industrial setting. These settings often have unsafe, slippery conditions that put workers at risk. Added work place safety, such a as a non slip floor, can become very beneficial in these situations. Many people may not consider a commercial setting as an appropriate situation for a non slip floor to be installed. Serious slip and fall accidents my not seem as prevalent as within a commercial facility. However slip and fall accidents can happen anywhere and employers should do their best to keep employees safe in any workplace. When a floor is introduced to a liquid such as rain, a cleaning solution, a spilled drink, or a dry substance such as dust, it will become slippery regardless of what type of building it is located in. There are many commercial buildings that utilize metal non slip flooring products.
In an article by Smit Matur entitled “Non Slip Flooring-A Must for Avoiding Accidents and Providing Safety in Commercial Buildings” the author stresses the importance of a non slip floor. He lists many different types of non slip floor products such as rubber tiles, tile sealing and Musson© rubber. Each type of non slip floor has advantages and disadvantages but I think one of the major advantages of metal non slip floor is its longevity. Many non slip floor products offer a quick fix but have to be replaced constantly. I think that if you are going to take the time to implement safety into your floors it is best to do it right the first time. Other non slip floor solutions may cost less initially but require frequent replacements in the long run; they may not pay off in the future. Metal non slip floor products are also more durable than other products available. Products such as slip resistant metal stair treads can be retro fitted over existing stairs just as easily as painting on an epoxy or installing any other type of non slip floors.
