Sanitary Flooring in Dairy Farms

A new study from Wisconsin suggests that milk manufactured in large dairy farms is cleaner than milk manufactured in small farms.  While buying from local smaller companies is becoming more and more popular, this may be a surprising find.  No matter the size of the dairy farm sanitary flooring, safe work platforms, healthy cows, proper refrigeration and clean equipment are absolute essentials.

The study was based on the number of cells found in the two different types of milk that were linked to mammary disease in the cows and bacteria tied to unclean equipment and improper refrigeration.  A group that represents small dairy farms say that they have never claimed that milk from smaller farms is better, instead they have made the argument that smaller dairies are better from an environmental, economical and social aspect.  The study also ignored nutrient levels and taste.

While the debate can go on, most consumers just judge milk by its taste and shelf life.  The sanitary conditions in either size dairy farm need to be kept up to high standards.  Sanitary flooring and equipment, and efficient work platforms should be addressed.  Safety platforms and flooring that are easily cleaned, slip resistant and can be sterilized are a must.  SlipNOT® manufactures NSF registered, stainless steel, non-slip flooring that is used throughout beverage and food manufacturing facilities.  It holds up to the vigorous cleaning agents that keep these facilities up to cleanliness standards while keeping workers on their feet.

SlipNOT®’s sanitary flooring can be fabricated into countless applications.  Work platforms, walkways, catwalks, stair treads, ladder rungs/covers and crossovers among others are all ways that non-slip stainless steel flooring can be used in beverage producing facilities.  The size of the facility does not matter; product safety and worker safety should always be a factor.
