Steel Grating Helps Provide Worker Safety
Exterior steps can become extremely hazardous when wet from outdoor elements. A slip resistant solution is often necessary to ensure the safety of workers utilizing the stairs. An example of an application where slip resistant steel grating is necessary is at the Miller Brewing Company. The Miller Brewing Company applied SlipNOT® steel grating treads to slippery exterior stairs to help increase worker safety at their facility. Non-slip steel grating is commonly used as a slip resistant solution in heavy duty industry applications such as this. Steel is ideal for such applications because it is a very rugged material; it can withstand installation in extreme heat and oily conditions. Slip resistant steel grating from SlipNOT® is also extremely durable and will be able to remain slip resistant even when being heavily used with minimal maintenance.
In this particular application, Miller Brewing Company needed a material that would be capable of being installed in outdoor weather elements. The material also needed to allow for drainage of liquids to ensure workers would be safe. To ensure Miller Brewing Company’s material needs were met, SlipNOT® suggested grating rather than plate as a solution to their slippery stairs. Grating allows for drainage that Miller needed on the stairs to increase worker safety. To ensure the slip resistant steel grating was able to withstand the weather elements, the grating was also hot dipped galvanized. Galvanizing a material such as slip resistant steel grating ensures the material is corrosion resistant and can withstand extreme weather changes which was necessary for the outdoor application.
Slip resistant steel grating is a versatile solution that can be utilized for a number of different applications within heavy duty industrial environments. SlipNOT®’s durability and slip resistance provides safety for workers even in weather elements and extreme working conditions for years.
