The Situation:

To help improve the industrial flooring decking platforms at Caterpillar facilities, they needed to have removable non-slip cover plates added to conceal their cable trays below the platform and allow access. A leading supplier of industrial robots and automation systems, was contacted by Caterpillar. The leading supplier designs and builds the removable slip resistant cover plates that are built into the decking platforms that surround the boring, milling and C & C machines.

The Solution:

Over the past several years, the supplier has continually worked with SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring to address all safety matters for the industrial flooring decking platforms needed for Caterpillar facilities. The SlipNOT® non-slip cover plates are an integral safe portion of the industrial flooring decking platform that surrounds robotic boring, milling and C & C machines. The custom SlipNOT® cover plates act as a safe non-slip barrier against the constant build-up of cutting fluids and metal chips from the conveyors.

To transform the ordinary industrial flooring, ¼” thick custom cut Grade 2 slip resistant steel plates were purchased turning the industrial flooring decking platform into extraordinary. The removable non-slip cover plates, after being custom fabricated from approved detailed shop drawings, have a coat of black paint applied to the slip resistant side of the plates.
