The Situation:

A manufacturer of coolant filtration equipment contacted SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring in order to meet the needs of its customer, General Motors Company.  SlipNOT® has been providing General Motors Company with slip resistant solutions for decades.  In this case, General Motors needed slip resistant bar grating for drum access steps.  Drums are used in General Motor plants to store anything from oil to paint or grease and can make the work area and walking surfaces very slippery.

Solution:

The manufacturer sent over a detailed drawing of the required bar grating dimensions for the drum access steps.  SlipNOT® provided 1-1/2” x 3/16” x 15” x 31-1/16” 19W4 bar grating with a Grade 2 steel coating, as specified.  The slip resistant bar grating was the most economical decision for the application based on longevity and durability.  Other automotive facilities have utilized SlipNOT® products for a plethora of applications such as axle and transmission lines, engine lines, conveyors, catwalks, dock levelers around stamping presses, machining areas, trench grating, flume and pit covers, crossover platforms, aisle plate, transition plates and many others.

The Impact:

SlipNOT® met the needs of General Motors Company by allowing workers to easily access machinery while preventing accidents.  The non-slip bar grating access steps continually increase productivity and give workers a piece of mind while working near large dangerous machinery.  SlipNOT® bar grating remains slip resistant, even when covered in oil and other slippery fluids.
