The Situation:

Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida is the largest animal themed park in the world.  In order to keep employees and staff at Disney’s Animal Kingdom safe, a contractor contacted SlipNOT^® Metal Safety Flooring.  Access ladders are used throughout the park to gain entrance behind the scenes to exhibits and other attractions.  The ladder rungs needed to be slip resistant to eliminate accidents.

The Solution:

SlipNOT^® supplied the contractor with stainless steel rung covers for the existing ladder rungs to meet the needs of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  SlipNOT^® decided that covers for the ladder rungs would be the most efficient and economical solution for Disney.  That way workers could simply weld the covers over the existing ladder rungs in the field.  Stainless steel was the best option due to the non-corrosive and chemical resistant properties of the alloy.  The SlipNOT^® stainless steel covers were 1 ½” x ¾” x 1/8” x 144” to fit ¾” ladder rungs.

The Impact:

SlipNOT^® stainless steel covers for the ladder rungs provided safety for staff while also presenting an exquisite appearance.  SlipNOT^® ladder rung covers also created the most cost and time efficient way of renovating the slippery ladders without replacing them.   SlipNOT^® non-skid stainless steel ladder rung covers permit employees to work behind the scenes flawlessly.
