The Situation:

A quality fabricator contacted SlipNOT® to provide non-slip ladder rung covers for an orange juice facility.  Another slip resistant product was specified for the job, but the fabricator requested the architect to approve SlipNOT® as a replacement.  In contrast to the alternative, SlipNOT® provided a variety of options, ample information and thoroughly explained any technical and installation questions.  The fabricator indicated that SlipNOT® was more economical and had great customer service.

The Solution:

SlipNOT® and the fabricator worked closely together to come up with the best solution for the orange juice facility.  SlipNOT® provided the fabricator with twenty-eight (28) Grade 2 stainless steel ladder rung covers, 1-1/2” x 3/4” x 1/8” to fit over3/4” , 1”, and 1-1/4” round rungs.  SlipNOT® also supplied one hundred twenty eight (128) 1” diameter x 20-1/2” long steel ladder rungs.  SlipNOT® stainless steel ladder rung covers were installed over small existing ladder rungs on the top of storage tanks inside the orange juice facility.  SlipNOT® ladder rung covers remained slip resistant, even when introduced to spillage from the storage tanks.  The SlipNOT® steel ladder rungs were installed on outside ladders because that are about 80’ and 55’ tall with platforms which are exposed to the weather.  Even in detrimental weather, SlipNOT® ladder rung covers and ladder rungs allow workers to keep their grip.

The Impact:

SlipNOT® incorporated safety to the orange juice facility, inside and out.  The fabricator and SlipNOT® worked together to provide the orange juice facility with the best possible solution, after reviewing many options, materials and installation processes.  SlipNOT® ladder rung covers and ladder rungs will keep workers safe on the job for years to come.
