The Situation:
Sather Air Force Base or Camp Sather, is a United States Air Force base located on the west side of the Baghdad International Airport. It is named after staff sargent Scott Sather who was the first to give his life in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Recently the 447th Expeditionary Medical Squadron, whose operations are located on the Sather Air Force Base, moved their medical setup from a set of tents into a new 15,000 foot modular facility. While in the planning stages, USAF Hospital contacted SlipNOT® to provide the aluminum planking that was needed for a ramp.
The Solution:
SlipNOT® provided USAF Hospital's contractor with various pieces of 1” x 36” x 72” and 1” x 36” x 36” unpunched aluminum planking to install in the field. The aluminum planking was cut-to-size to the job specifications, allowing easy installation in the areas where it was needed. SlipNOT® aluminum planking is lightweight and durable. Aluminum naturally forms an oxide that protects itself from rust and corrosion, making it a smart choice for a ramp that can come into contact with many different elements. The patented SlipNOT® surface provides 100% slip resistant coverage, even when completely submerged in water or other lubricants.
The Impact:
SlipNOT® was able to provide USAF Hospital with a durable, lightweight and slip resistant solution they were seeking. With SlipNOT®’s durable coating, the hospital could count on the aluminum planking to protect the patients, servicemen and servicewomen.
