The Situation:

Wyman-Gordon Company, a metal component manufacturer, was struggling with slippery substances building up on the flooring in their press chamber.  They needed a non-slip solution for this dusty slippery situation to ensure the safety of their employees when utilizing the press chamber to change out certain elements.

The Solution:

SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring was contacted to find the ideal solution for their slippery flooring issue.  A SlipNOT® sales representative suggested using steel floor plate, painted black, to not only provide a strong durable surface but to blend in with the working environment.  Steel floor plate is used in environments where harsh chemicals or other elements are prominent and is used for applications where strength is critical.

Wyman-Gordon Company ordered (1) piece of 1/8’’ x 5’ x 10’ steel floor plate for the chamber floor.  Once the steel floor plate was cut to size, coated with the SlipNOT® slip resistant surface, and painted black, SlipNOT® shipped the steel floor plate to Wyman-Gordon Company for installation.  Wyman-Gordon was pleased with the quick turnaround from point of order to receiving the final product.

The Impact:

The steel floor plate with SlipNOT®’s slip resistant coating applied is meeting and exceeding the expectations of Wyman-Gordon Company.  The floor plate that used to be very slippery and dusty when coming in contact with elements and chemicals is now provides a high traction surface, thus providing Wyman-Gordon Company with a safe working surface in their press chamber for all employees.
