The Situation:

An employee at Reynolds Louisville Foil Plant contacted SlipNOT® in order to address the need for an answer to slip and fall concerns.  There were items and areas in the foil plant that had been identified as slip hazards and problems with mobile equipment traction.  Reynolds contacted SlipNOT® to experiment with different options SlipNOT® could be used in the plant to repair the hazardous areas.

The Solution:

SlipNOT® provided Reynolds Louisville Foil Plant with 10 pieces of 4’ x 8-1/4” Grade 3 steel floor plate, the most abrasive option available.  The steel floor plate was used for a variety of applications within the plant as a solution to their slip resistant needs.  SlipNOT® steel floor plate was used on the items that Reynolds deemed as slip hazards.  Some of the steel floor plates were fabricated into customized stair covers that had traditionally been made out of expanded metal or grating.  Others were fabricated to cover the existing slippery, uneven dimple plate.  SlipNOT® steel floor plate was also cut into several strips and then installed onto the existing slippery concrete ramps to provide a better traction surface for the mobile equipment.

The Impact:

SlipNOT® incorporated safety into the Reynolds Louisville Foil Plant by providing traction for mobile equipment, retrofitting easily over stairs to prevent accidents, and providing a permanent slip resistant answer to slip hazards throughout the plant.  SlipNOT® steel floor plate is easily fabricated and cut to suit any project or application.  SlipNOT® steel floor plate provided a safe, durable, secure work area for employees.
