Slip-Resistant Metal Decking and Flooring Materials
SlipNOT® slip-resistant metal decking and flooring materials provide long lasting, durable, slip resistance for years. SlipNOT® slip-resistant metal decking can consist of plate, grating, flattened expanded metal and perforated metal. Our slip-resistant deck flooring materials are available in steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel. SlipNOT® metal decking products are file hard, and have a surface hardness of over 55 on the Rockwell “C” scale. Our deck materials meet all ADA and OSHA recommendations for slip resistance.
In the wet and oily environments of marine applications, SlipNOT® slip-resistant bridge and deck material, plate and grating are the best available technology for preventing slip and fall accidents. SlipNOT® slip-resistant deck flooring products are used by the US Coast Guard, US Army Corp of Engineers, US Navy and by numerous port authorities to increase safety and to improve productivity. Subway Grates, Vault Access Cover Plates, Highway Road Construction Plates, Steps, Stair Nosings, and other Street Hardware have traditionally utilized diamond checker plate or serrated grating as attempts at increasing surface traction. Independent testing has shown that diamond plate and serrated grating are slipperier than smooth plate and grating when wet and consequently, creates hazardous conditions for pedestrians and traffic. Independent agencies have also determined that diamond checker plate and serrated grating have coefficient of friction values drastically lower than the surrounding cement, also creating hazardous situations for pedestrians. SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring products are over double the OSHA recommended value of 0.5 coefficient of friction and are ADA compliant, far exceeding the ADA mandated value of 0.6 COF for level surfaces and 0.8 COF for slip-resistant decking.
Because SlipNOT® is a metal on metal plasma stream deposition, SlipNOT® stair treads, landings, mezzanines, and metal decks offer the versatility and custom formed adaptability of traditional metal fabricated assemblies. For new installations, SlipNOT® plates, treads, and gratings can be welded directly to the supporting structures or can be provided with countersunk holes for bolting in place. Nosings, risers, toe plates or other design specifications are provided to meet project needs and can be varied to meet nearly any design or engineering requirement.
