SlipNOT® steel expanded metal stair treads are durable and long lasting. They are ideal for environments such as steel mills, automotive and manufacturing plants where drainage of harsh elements and chemicals are vital. Expanded metal stair treads are generally used for retrofitting over existing slippery grating.

  • LEED: The recycled content of SlipNOT® products varies depending on the source of the substrate.  However, based off of an average provided by the mills and vendors we use most often, SlipNOT® products have a minimum of 40% recycled content and up to 83% recycled content. Product Features:

  • Advantages: SlipNOT® steel expanded metal stair treads are ideal for environments where harsh elements are prominent. Expanded metal stair treads can be easily retrofit over existing slippery flooring, grating or diamond plate. Non-slip expanded metal treads provide a strong, durable surface with open spaces to allow for drainage of slippery elements.
  • Availability: SlipNOT® slip resistant steel expanded metal stair treads are custom formed in order to meet specific project requirements.
  • Durability: Steel expanded metal stair treads coated withSlipNOT® have a file hard surface between 55 – 63 on the Rockwell “C” scale and has a bond strength of at least 4,000 psi.
  • Protection: Steel products require a protective finish such as paint or galvanizing. Steel products can rust easily if exposed to moisture. Steel products should be primed, painted or hot dipped galvanized to prevent corrosion. Hot dipped galvanizing is the preferred method for corrosion resistance. (Guidelines for Galvanizing)
  • Fabrication: Non-slip steel expanded metal stair treads are formed to job specifications. Treads can be formed into a channel to completely cover an existing slippery stair. (Fabricating Instructions)
  • Application: SlipNOT® steel expanded metal stair treads are easily retrofitted over existing concrete, grating or unsafe diamond checker plate assemblies. Non-slip expanded metal stair treads can be welded directly onto current treads or can be bolted in place. Mid-point and top formed landings are also available.
  • Slip Resistant Standards: SlipNOT® steel expanded metal stair treads meet and exceed all the requirements for an ASTM / ANSI slip resistant surface and are registered slip resistant with Underwriters Laboratories per the UL 410 standard. SlipNOT® coefficient of friction is greater than or equal to 0.85. (Standards and Test Requirements)
