Steel Stair Nosing
Workplace safety is a major concern for many companies; stairways can be an especially hazardous spot. Having a slip resistant stair nosing is a vital part of preventing slip and fall accidents on stairways. Slick stairways can be found in various environments, from schools to food processing plants. Creating a non-slip walking surface using stairs and nosings is a vital part of enhancing workplace safety. You can rely on a SlipNOT® steel stair nosing to keep you safe in the slipperiest environments.
A SlipNOT® steel stair nosing can greatly reduce slip and fall accidents even when fully submerged in oil, water or other lubricants. SlipNOT® is an all metal coating that is completely grit free providing 100% slip resistant coverage. Each SlipNOT® steel stair nosing can easily retrofit over existing stairs or can be installed on new stairways. SlipNOT® steel stair nosings can be custom fit to your specifications and can have pre-drilled countersunk holes, anchors such as J-hooks or Nelson studs welded on, or they can be drilled and countersunk in the field.
The patented SlipNOT® process deposits a stream of molten metal plasma onto a metal substrate. This process creates a durable surface hardened to between 55 – 63 on the Rockwell “C” scale and a bond strength of over 4,000 psi. Each SlipNOT® steel stair nosing meets and exceeds all the requirements for an ASTM / ANSI slip resistant surface and is registered slip resistant with Underwriters Laboratories. Every SlipNOT® steel stair nosing also exceeds all OSHA and ADA requirements for slip resistant surfaces.
SlipNOT® steel stair nosings are available in thicknesses from 1/8” to ¼”. The standard stock widths are 1-1/4” but can be formed to fit your specifications. Lengths can also be customized to your specifications or they are available in stock sizes of 8’ and 10’. SlipNOT® steel stair nosings are available in three different surfaces– Grade 1 (Fine), Grade 2 (Medium) and Grade 3 (Coarse)—and come in a variety of finishes such as galvanized, painted, mill, safety yellow, or customized. If a steel stair nosing comes in contact with water, oil, or lubricants must be painted or galvanized to protect the surface from rust and corrosion.
From commercial buildings to manufacturing plants and schools, SlipNOT® steel stair nosings can be counted on to keep workers and pedestrians on their feet while working and walking in the harshest conditions.
