Steel Tread Plate

Steel Tread Plate used for a conveyor belt.

Steel tread plate is a commonly used form of flooring.  Other terms for steel tread plate include steel checkered plate, embossed steel tread plate and steel diamond plate.  Steel tread plate is classified as non-slip flooring because it provides a raised surface which is supposed to provide traction and slip resistance in hazardous environments.  Though steel tread plate is used throughout the world in industrial, commercial, municipal and residential settings as a source of traction and is classified as a non-slip metal flooring product, it does not maintain its slip resistant qualities when wet, dusty or worn.

Instead of using steel tread plate in slippery areas and having to replace it due to wear and continual slip and falls, companies and municipalities should invest in a far superior, truly slip resistant metal flooring product.  SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring manufactures non-slip steel plate that can replace slippery tread plate in a wide range of industries.  While SlipNOT® products are not appropriate for residential use, SlipNOT® steel plate can be incorporated into many industrial or commercial applications.  The steel surface can be galvanized for a cost effective solution to interior and exterior slip hazards.

Steel tread plate is commonly used in industries such as steel mills, automotive plants and oil & gas.  Steel tread plate can be constructed into floor coverings such as stair treads, walkways, crossovers, mezzanines, drain covers, platforms and ladder rungs.  Unfortunately, tread plate flooring does not provide the traction needed in slippery, wet and dusty conditions.  SlipNOT® steel plate is approved by OSHA and can be used in these types of facilities to ensure workers a safe and slip resistant working environment.

SlipNOT® steel floor plate is fully customizable and exceeds the slip resistant flooring recommendations set by ADA and OSHA.  Unlike slippery tread plate, steel floor plate provides a permanent solution to slip and fall hazards.
