California has led the nation in it’s effort to recycle for years. The government is aiming to educate the residents of California to use less and recycle more through various initiatives passed by the government. So far the initiatives have paid off and according to the CalRecycle website, The Golden State currently leads the nation with a 59% recycling rate of all materials. When a recycling plant needed slip resistant plates and treads for the potentially slippery area leading up to their sorting machines, they contacted a sales representative at SlipNOT® to help them decide the best possible solution for their needs.
SlipNOT® provided this recycling center with steel plates and stair treads to install in existing areas of their facility. The plates and treads were cut to size allowing easy installation. Since the areas in which the plates and treads would be installed in were sometimes slick from bottles and cans, they chose to paint the plates and treads to protect them from rust and corrosion. SlipNOT® steel needs to be either painted or galvanized to protect it from rust or corrosion. SlipNOT® steel remains slip resistant even when submerged in water or lubricants and SlipNOT® steel plate a file hard surface between 55 - 63 on the Rockwell “C” scale and a bond strength of at least 4000 psi.
SlipNOT® was able to provide the recycling center and its employees with the safety and security they were striving to achieve. SlipNOT® steel plate has proven to be long lasting and durable; it requires little or no maintenance and can retain its longevity for decades. The employees at this recycling center can rest assured that they are working in the safest conditions possible.
