Cedar Point began in 1892 with the peninsula’s first roller coaster, the 25-foot-tall, 10mph Switchback Railway. Today, Cedar Point is the number-one rated amusement park on the planet with a wide variety of rides, roller coasters, games, shows and much more. Cedar Point is proud to call Sandusky, Ohio home and is now considered the best vacation destination in the Midwest.
Cedar Point wants to make sure their guests are having fun while being safe, which is why Cedar Points Reliability Engineer addressed the egress points within a ride and contacted SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring.
SlipNOT® provided (7) 3/16” x 4-1/2” x 43-3/4” Grade 2 steel plates with (1) 4-1/2” x 1-3/4” 45 degree bend. The slip resistant steel plates were installed inside the cab where guests enter and exit the ride. Cedar point feels confident in the high traction surface throughout the cabs.
SlipNOT® has also installed their non slip grating for walkways throughout Cedar Point as well as the Harry Potter ride at Universal Studios. SlipNOT®’s steel flooring products are applicable for nearly every situation. With an average peak to valley surface depth of 0.020”-0.025”; Grade 2 (Medium) SlipNOT® provides maximum traction, durability and longevity.
Cedar Point reported that the slip resistant steel plates provided a safer entry for guests. SlipNOT®’s highly durable products replace temporary solutions that need to be replaced or have maintenance often, such as painted or taped on products.
