Two Harbors Machine Shop Inc. was established in 1968 in Two Harbors, MN. The company operates a 79,000 sq. ft. machining and fabricating facility and a 10,000 sq. ft. painting facility. Because of its large facility and a commitment to continued modernization, Two Harbors Machine Shop is capable of handling almost any size and type of fabricating, welding, or machining service.
in 1977, Two Harbors expanded and started manufacturing its own line of SERCO loaders. With lift capacities ranging from 2,000 to 37,000 pounds, SERCO loaders are widely used in multiple industries and are considered a quality, dependable machine. One of the SERCO loaders is capable of being driven on railroad tracks. Because of this, the ladder for getting on the loader is higher from the ground than a standard loader, making it difficult to get on. To combat this, Two Harbors offers an optional drop-down ladder to bring the lowest rung closer to the ground.
When manufacturing SERCO loaders, quality and safety is a concern. It is the concern for safety that led Two Harbors Machine Shop to offer drop-down ladders. To increase the safety even further, Two Harbors partnered with SlipNOT® Metal Safety Flooring to provide slip resistant rungs for the drop-down ladders. Two Harbors ordered (10) 10' long x 1" diameter Grade 2 steel ladder rungs with a mill finish. Not only does the Grade 2 coating provide adequate slip resistance in both wet and dry conditions, but the stock lengths and mill finish allow for customization in size and color.
Since partnering with SlipNOT®, Two Harbors Machine Shop has been able to increase the safety provided by its drop-down ladders for SERCO loaders. Not only do the ladder rungs provide slip resistance, but they are customizable to Two Harbors' needs. By following SlipNOT®'s fabrication and painting guidelines, Two Harbors is able to get the rungs to the size the need and the color they want with no issues.
