Tyson Foods Utilizes SlipNOT® Stainless Steel Stair Treads for Crossover Ladders

The Situation

Tyson Foods, Inc. was founded by John W. Tyson in 1935 and has since grown to be the world's second largest processor and marketer of chicken, beef and pork. Headquartered in Springdale, AK, the company also has international offices in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada and Moscow. Tyson strives to operate with integrity, serve as stewards of the resources they handle, and provide a safe work environment. As part of their efforts to provide a safe work environment, Tyson has partnered with SlipNOT® to provide slip resistant flooring products for facilities across the United States. When Tyson needed stair treads for crossover ladders used in their facilities, they once again turned to SlipNOT® for a solution.

The Solution

SlipNOT® provided (8) 10 1/8" x 28" x 1/"8 thick and (2) 28" x 10 1/2" x 1/8" thick stainless steel plate stair treads with SlipNOT® grade 2 stainless steel. SlipNOT® stainless steel is NSF registered for use in the food processing industry. Stainless steel products are also low maintenance and can withstand extreme cold and heat and the daily cleaning required to keep food processing facilities hygienic. In addition to the natural properties of stainless steel that make it ideal for food processing, the SlipNOT® grade 2 stainless steel coating provides the necessary slip resistance to keep workers on their feet and safe in both wet and dry conditions.

The Impact

Tyson and SlipNOT® have worked together for years to improve the safety of workers in Tyson's food processing facilities. From rolling stair platforms to drain covers to crossover ladders, Tyson trusts SlipNOT® to provide a product that not only has the necessary slip resistance to keep workers safe, but will last for years to come.
